Let Us 3D Print Your Idea - or .STL/.OBJ File, and Literally Bring it to Life!
3D Printer
Heavily Modified Sunlu S8
3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, is a cutting-edge technology that creates physical objects from digital designs. Think of it as a machine that builds things layer by layer, using materials like plastic, resin, or even metal. It’s like having a miniature factory that can bring your ideas to life right on your desk!
This technology is incredibly versatile. Whether you want to create custom items, replace broken parts, or bring your unique designs to reality, 3D printing makes it possible. Imagine you have a digital blueprint of a toy, a tool, or a piece of art. A 3D printer reads this blueprint and constructs the object, layer by layer, until it’s complete. It’s fascinating to watch an idea from your computer screen transform into a real, tangible object.
But there's more to it than just making cool stuff. 3D printing accelerates the design and development process, allowing for rapid prototyping. This means engineers and designers can quickly test and refine their concepts without the need for expensive and time-consuming traditional manufacturing methods. It's a game-changer in fields like healthcare, where custom prosthetics and implants can be tailored to fit patients perfectly and in aerospace, where lightweight and complex components are essential.
Even typical 2D CT and MRI scans can be converted into a 3D model. From there, any organ, bone, muscle, and even blood vessels can be isolated and then 3D printed. Imagine holding a very accurate model of your own skull or brain in your hands? There are many reasons why this might want to be done.
3D printing isn’t just about creating objects; it’s about innovation and efficiency. It enables the production of complex geometries that would be impossible or impractical with conventional techniques, supports mass customization, reduces waste, and opens up new possibilities in various industries. Whether you’re an inventor, a hobbyist, or just someone who loves to make things, 3D printing offers a world of exciting opportunities.

Underdog Recording Studio and 3D Printing
Owner/Senior Audio Engineer: Erik D.
Inspired by hearing Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" for the first time in 1992, Erik knew instantly that he wanted to learn to play guitar and sing. He received his first guitar at age 12 and practiced diligently every day, teaching himself. A few years later, he added the bass guitar to his repertoire.
By the age of 18, Erik began learning to play drums. In 1998, he was introduced to his first Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), Cakewalk Pro Audio 9.0.1. In 2004, he transitioned to Cakewalk Sonar 4.0, continuing through Version 8, before migrating to Pro Tools in 2015.
Today, Erik primarily uses Logic Pro but remains proficient with Pro Tools and Sonar as needed.
Underdog Recording Studio, formerly known as Impaired/Repaired Recording Studio, was shut down in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Erik worked in various metal shops until a work injury in late 2022 led to his termination.
Despite the ongoing chronic pain and undiagnosed condition, Erik decided to reopen the studio with a new name, returning to his true passion: working with music, 3D printing and 3D modeling.
Underdog Recording Studio continues to thrive, providing high-quality recording services and a commitment to musical excellence - all at a very fair price.
